[There's only silence at first, aside from some very quiet background noise. After a few moments though, a deep voice speaks, sounding more than a little disoriented.]

[Yuan leans back in his chair for a moment, closing his eyes. Time for another topic that can't be avoided forever, though this one is the most painful so far.]

... Martel is also here. [Hence why it's not up to Yuan to decide how long Mithos stays down there.]

Is she well?

... She hasn't changed one bit. [He'll leave it at that. She may be healthy, but Martel has a tendency to sympathize with the wrong sort of people, so it'd be hard to say she's "well". Plus, she's constantly worrying about Mithos.]

Is that to say that you are concerned for her?

[How nice to see that Kratos is amused at Yuan's expense. Just like the old days, indeed. Yuan can't bring himself to snap at the man- not now. So instead he runs a hand through his hair, producing something along the lines of a frustrated grunt in response. It should be a valid answer to such an obvious question.

How could he not be concerned for her?]

I am... glad for you, Yuan. Glad that Martel is here.

[Oh Kratos. He just doesn't get it, does he?]

Don't be. ...She's been sent home three times already, only to return here a while later. She never remembers, either.

[Having Martel here means he's living in constant fear that she'll be sent away again. Having her here means he's constantly worrying something terrible will happen to her. Then, when she does go home, he's left wondering how long it'll be before she returns to Luceti once more. It just can't work like this. As much as he loves her, Yuan can't really look her in the eyes anymore because he's just so goddamn afraid.]

[Awkward. Yuan casts around for a change of topic. One that isn't so incredibly uncomfortable.]

You can take some time to let all that sink in. In the meanwhile, you should focus on getting settled. Most of your belongings can be retrieved from the stores.

All right. I suppose I should look for lodging, as well?

Of course. There are several apartments free for the taking. Most others from our world are living in a house with several other villagers.

[Kratos used to live in a house, but the situation was different then. He had Lloyd to live with, and later some of Lloyd's companions. As well as that Svala woman. Now that she's gone and Lloyd's friends have settled in, Yuan honestly expects Kratos to choose an empty apartment. Especially with his current memories, or lack thereof.]

What of your living situations, Yuan?

... I have a house all to myself. None of my housemates have stuck around this long.

[Martel's lived with him twice, now. In fact, she was the whole reason he moved into that house in the first place. Then there was Cooro, and Zoisite for a fairly long while. Now he just has three studies, one with a bed he couldn't bring himself to remove.]

[Is Kratos going somewhere with this? And if so, is he going where Yuan thinks he's going?]

Mithos is here, correct? Then, would it not be best for us to remain close to one another? Especially if you are unable to keep him confined forever...

[Yup, he went there.

Yuan closes his eyes for a moment, thinking things over. He's knows perfectly well Kratos wants to keep an eye on him, but that's fine. He's got nothing to hide and he's already come to learn quite a few times that it's best to have Kratos as a close ally. Plus, with him in the house, there likely won't be a repeat of Mithos breaking in and snooping through his things. The only problem is privacy, but... Well, Kratos tends to seclude himself anyway.]

... Fair enough. If you think you won't regret it, I have a room available.

It's house number eight. I doubt you'll be needing any help moving in with what little belongings you have.

[Yuan has quite a few belongings, but those are three and a half years' worth of accumulated junk. New Feathers don't seem to have much more than clothing and their weapons.

He's just about ready to get his feet and leave Kratos to sort the rest out for himself. But first...] ... Any more questions that need answering?

[Of all the questions to ask, Yuan hadn't been expecting that one. He thinks back to what happened those years ago, remembering his reasoning without too much effort- Those events are still quite clear in his memory.]

Before you left to release Origin's Seal, you told me you were planning to die. You said we'd lived for too long, and I agreed. We truly have lived too long. Mithos was presumed dead at that point and the reunification of the worlds was up to Lloyd, who would become the new owner of the Eternal Sword the moment they succeeded in making a pact with Origin. What else was left for me to do? ... I couldn't sit back and do nothing while you got to redeem yourself. Either it would work, or we'd go down together, the last two remaining Seraphim of Cruxis.
